This is an autobiographical piece based on a conversation I had with my ex-partner. I am very much a subscriber of the paradox of “nothing matters, but everything also matters,” which he did not believe.

“nothing matters,” you say

as we both lay

under my window.

“nothing matters,” I say

“but isn’t it what

we each make of it?”

I miss your hands on mine.
